EWSWA REGIONAL LANDFILL CELL 5 NORTH CONSTRUCTION

Client Name: Windsor-Essex Solid Waste Authority

Duration: July 2024-July 2025

Project Value: $11.7 Million

  • This project consisted of the excavation and construction of Cell 5 North at the EWSWA Regional Landfill. Work included comprehensive site preparation, earthworks, and the installation of a liner system to ensure environmental protection and containment integrity. The scope involved grading, subgrade preparation, and the placement of engineered protective layers to support the landfill’s long-term operations. Drainage infrastructure and a leachate collection system were also installed to improve environmental safeguards and operational efficiency. This project was completed in alignment with all regulatory requirements and sustainability goals, supporting the safe and responsible management of waste for the region.

WINDSOR’S CITY HALL SQUARE

  • Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. served as the Site Contractor for the redevelopment of Windsor’s City Hall Square. Our work included installing new utilities, stormwater retention, and drainage systems, as well as excavation, backfill, and granular base for the ice rink slab, civic esplanade, and pavilion building. We also completed refrigeration and plumbing line installations for the rink and fountains, roadway re-paving, and site grading.

    This project transformed the former City Hall site into a vibrant public space, aligning completion with the City of Windsor’s July 2025 birthday celebration.

LARGE-SCALE WAREHOUSE

Project Value: $13 Million

  • Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. successfully completed the civil construction portion of a large-scale warehouse project in Windsor, Ontario. Groundbreaking began in July 2023, and the building was delivered to the owner on schedule in July 2024.

    The project scope included the excavation, cataloguing, removal, and proper disposal of approximately 21,000 m³ of excess soil, the removal, recycling, and disposal of over 1 kilometre of existing storm piping, and the demolition of a decommissioned transformer station. Sterling Ridge supplied and installed approximately 150,000 metric tonnes of granular fill material, over 2.2 kilometres of underground stormwater system, and approximately 1 kilometre of watermain and fire main. The team excavated and backfilled more than 130 pier foundations and 480 metres of footings, prepared the under-slab composition for the 28,000 m² building slab, and graded for roughly 40,000 m² of asphalt parking lot.

SCULLY/ST. MARKS PUMP STATION

Duration: Sept 2023 - Ongoing

Project Value: $19.2 Million

  • The project will be a collaborative effort between Sterling Ridge Infrastructure and Sterling Ridge General Contracting. The primary scope of work is as follows:

    • Construction of a new stormwater pump station and Outlet

    • Construction of shoreline protection walls

    • Reconstruction of Storm and Sanitary Sewer, Watermain, Street Light, and Road along Riverside Drive between Grant Avenue and Arlington Boulevard

    • Decommissioning of two existing stormwater pump stations

BNA - CONCRETE WORKS

Client Name: Bridge North America

Duration: 2020-2023

Project Value: $32 Million

  • The Concrete Works Project at the Canadian Point of Entry for the Gordie Howe International Bridge includes construction of the footings, piers, walls, slabs, retaining and shear walls for the eleven buildings.

    This package includes excavation, backfilling, insulation, waterproofing and dock levelers as well.

ENGINEERING FILL AND SURCHARGE PROJECT

Client Name: Bridge North America

Duration: 2019-2023

Project Value: $34 Million

  • Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. has been awarded the Engineering Fill and Surcharge Package for the Gordie Howe International Bridge from Bridging North America “BNA”. The main scope is to supply and install more than 750,000 metric tonnes of aggregate material and within the site to install and move more than 850,000 metric tonnes of aggregate material.

    In addition to the aggregate material, instrumentation devices for monitoring the settlement and ground water pressure have been installed and are part of the scope of work. The main activities are occurring at the Canadian Point of Entry “CPOE” for the Gordie Howe International Bridge in Windsor, Ontario.

    In one day, Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. supplied and installed 15,367.40 metric tonnes of aggregate material with more than 70 trailers involved to truck the material from Erie Sand and Gravel in Leamington to the job site at Windsor. Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. also performed 85 compactions tests on the sublots.

    The project team has worked more than 12 hours a day, six days a week with full production and efficiency to put us ahead of critical schedule.
